Arizona Upsets Duke in Cameron

DURHAM, N.C. – Guard Jeremy Roach reached 1,000 career points in a heartbreaking 78-73 loss against the Arizona Wildcats in Cameron Indoor Stadium

With the loss, Duke falls to 1-1. Arizona improves to 2-0. 

The Blue Devils are ranked #2 in the country, coming into the highly anticipated game. 

The Wildcats scored almost instantly while playing aggressively on defense to get ahead. The Blue Devils soon responded and tied the game with 12:35 left in the first half

Center Kyle Filipowski played consistently during the first half, being the leading scorer for Duke and going 4-8 in field goals. 

Arizona’s Caleb Love made a three-pointer as time expired in the first half.  

At halftime, Arizona led Duke 41-33. The Blue Devils were led in the first half by center Kyle Filipowski who finished the half with 11 points and four rebounds. The Wildcats were led by guard Kylan Boswell with nine points and four rebounds. 

Duke started off the second half scoring three straight to close the gap, including a three-pointer from Filipowski. Guards Jared McCain and Jeremy Roach, along with center Filipowski took turns scoring in the first seven minutes. 

Duke went on a 7-0 run to regain the lead with 12:51 left in the game. 

The score stayed close throughout the second half with the help of multiple three pointers made in front of a whopping crowd of 9,314 in Cameron Indoor Stadium

Duke was led by center Kyle Filipowski, finishing with 25 points and eight rebounds

Arizona was led by Keshad Johnson, scoring 14 points.
