NCCU MBB Dominates MAC at Home

DURHAM, N.C. – Redshirt senior Ja’Darius Harris and junior Keishon Porter lit up McDougald-McLendon Arena from distance, combining for seven three-pointers in NCCU’s 113-50 victory over Mid-Atlantic Christian on Tuesday evening.

Harris scored a game-high 20 points, going 7-of-11 from the field. Harris knocked down four threes and forced three turnovers for the Eagles. Porter finished with 17 points from 7-of-10 shooting and snatched four steals. Porter also slammed home some thunderous dunks to ignite the crowd.

There were four more Eagles in double digits on the night. Senior Fred Cleveland Jr. finished the game very close to a double-double, scoring 14 and assisting on seven baskets. He followed suit with active hands on defense, collecting three steals.

Po’Boigh King and Emmanuel Izunabor each had 11 points. Izunabor grabbed five boards in the paint. Perry Smith Jr. was also in reach of a double-double performance, finishing with 10 points and eight rebounds.

Production was high for NCCU as the bench contributed 57 points helping to build the lead for the Eagles.

A bright spot for MACU was 15 points from Joshua Tyler. The 28 turnovers from the Mustangs led to a 17-point run from the Eagles, including 50 points from turnovers.

Men’s basketball will spend the next four games playing on the road, beginning with a battle at Longwood on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 3 p.m.
