NC State bounces back against St. Louis

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wolfpack scored 29 points off turnovers in an 82-70 victory over the Saint Louis Billikens in the PNC Arena.
 

With the win, NC State improves to 8-3. Saint Louis falls to 7-6 with the loss.  

Saint Louis got its groove early in the game while NC State struggled. Guard Dennis Parker Jr gave the Wolfpack the lead for the first time of the game with a jumper approaching mid first half. Following the lead change, the teams went back-and-forth with scoring. 

The Billikens had control of the first half for the most part, capitalizing off NC State fouls and being the more aggressive team offensively and defensively despite losing the turnover battle 8-3. 

Forward Bradley Ezewiro led the Billikens at the break with 10 points and five rebounds. Guard Dennis Parker Jr led the Wolfpack with eight points and six rebounds.  

Guards Casey Morsell and Dj Horne went back-to-back on three-pointers to set up a 6-0 run. Amid the 6-0 run to start the half, NC State regained the lead. Once the pace began to pick up, much like the first half, the second half proceeded with back-and-forth, taking turns with the lead.

The Wolfpack held the lead after the run to seal the 82-70 victory over the Saint Louis Billikens. 

The Wolfpack were led by guard Casey Morsell who finished the game with 21 points, two rebounds, and two assists. Horne followed with 18 points and no rebounds. Forward Ben Middlebrooks added nine points and four rebounds.  

The Billikens were led by forward Bradley Ezewiro who finished with 18 points, nine rebounds, and one assist. Forward Tim Dalger followed with 17 points and four rebounds.  

Saint Louis controlled the first half, playing aggressively on defensive end. As the game continued, NC State made the necessary adjustments to gain control in the second half. Saint Louis was able to force and take advantage of NC State fouls. NC State struggled with missed opportunities. Despite their struggles, the Wolfpack went 33% (27) on three-pointers and scored 29 points off turnovers.
