Durham Police Seeking Public’s Assistance In 2 Cases: Shooting Involving Juvenile, Locating Homicide Suspect
DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department is seeking the public’s help with identifying the suspect captured on security camera video shooting into an occupied dwelling.
On Thursday, January 18, 2024, at approximately 8:05 p.m., officers responded to a report of a person shot in the 800 block of Liberty Street. When officers arrived, they located an 8-year-old female juvenile suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim was transported to the hospital with life-threatening injuries. The victim is currently recovering from her injuries.

ATTEMPT TO LOCATE- HOMICIDE SUSPECT
The Durham Police Department is searching for Jermaine Facyson, 26, of Durham, in connection to the homicide of William Smith, 28, of Durham.
On October 31, 2023, the Durham Police Department responded to the 3400 block of Glasson Street in reference to a gunshot wound. When officers arrived, they found William Smith suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a local hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
During the investigation, detectives with the Durham Police Department Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit identified the suspect as Jermaine Facyson. On November 28, 2023, detectives charged Facyson with the murder. However, the Durham Police Department has been unable to locate Facyson and is now asking for the public’s help.
Anyone who comes into contact with Facyson should consider him armed and dangerous and call 911.
