Durham Police Seeking Public’s Assistance In Identifying Vehicle, Suspect In Drive-By Shooting

DURHAM, NC – Durham Police investigators are seeking the public’s assistance in reference to a drive-by shooting that occurred earlier this week.

At approximately 10:21 p.m. on May 28, 2024, officers responded to a sound of shots call in the area of the 2000 block of Guess Road. Based on preliminary investigation, the suspect(s) drove by a business and started shooting toward the parking lot. When officers arrived, the business and an occupied vehicle had been struck by gunfire. Multiple shell casings were located on the ground. A short time later, a 21-year-old female victim suffering from a gunshot wound was transported by a private vehicle to a local hospital. The victim sustained life-threatening injuries and remains in critical condition.

Police have released pictures of the suspect’s vehicle (pictured left), which appears to be a gray or dark-colored 2015-2018 Chrysler 300.
