Over 7 Pounds Of Marijuana, Guns, Cash Seized In Durham Bust
DURHAM, NC — More than seven pounds of marijuana, three firearms, and over $1000 were seized in Durham on Thursday (June 6), according to police.
On Thursday, the Durham Police Department’s Special Operations Unit executed a search warrant in the 2700 block of Edmund Street.
Officers said 3,353 grams — equivalent to more than seven pounds of marijuana — were seized. Police also took three firearms — one of which was an AR pistol — and $1,686 in cash. Two men were taken into custody.
Rakeem Sanford, 25, of Durham, was charged with:
- Two counts of carrying a concealed gun
- Possession with the intent to sell or deliver marijuana
- Felony possession of marijuana
- Maintaining a vehicle/dwelling
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Felony conspiracy
Tyrek Jennings, 27, of Durham, was charged with possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle/dwelling, felony conspiracy, and two counts of carrying a concealed gun.
