It’s been our privilege to celebrate hundreds of students over the last 13 years,” said Bro. Antoine Medley, founder of the National Black Scholars Signing Day.  “The 30 [students] we celebrated are added to the list. Celebrating our students’ academic successes not only motivates these students, it motivates the students that will surely come after them.”

Like their athletic peers, NBSSD is a unique opportunity for high school students to announce publicly where they plan to attend college. Phi Lambda Chapter provided a celebratory atmosphere for over 30 graduating African American high school seniors.

Since 1926, the Phi Lambda Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. has served Wake and Johnston counties with the goal of continuing with innovative programming like the National Black Scholars Signing Day.

The N.C. Triangle Alphas (NCTA) hosts two annual fundraisers: a derby-themed party and a golf event. These efforts provide financial support for scholarships and community service initiatives such as fan and turkey drives.

NCTA is the 501 (c)3 non-profit that allows the partnership between Phi Lambda and Beta Theta Lambda Chapters to host its third annual golf fundraiser on Mon., Aug. 26, 2024, at River Ridge Golf Club in Raleigh. Proceeds support future scholarship and community initiatives.  To date, both fundraising events have raised over $20,000.
