Raleigh Police Investigating Homicide on Highgate Place

RALEIGH – On Saturday, July 27, 2024, at approximately 1:55 a.m., the Raleigh Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the area of Highgate Place. An additional caller reported hearing shots being fired and a vehicle crashing into a tree in the 2400 block of Milburnie Road. Responding officers located the vehicle at the crash scene with an adult male occupant inside. The male was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later transported to a nearby hospital, where he died due to his injuries. 

This incident is now being investigated as a homicide.

A suspect has not been taken into custody.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
