Two Durham Men Arrested in Hillsborough Crime Spree
Hillsborough, N.C. — According to reports, Hillsborough police officers have arrested one person and charged a second person in connection with a shooting incident last week at an apartment complex in the southern part of town.
They are seeking information about the whereabouts of the second person charged and details of a possible third individual. In the early morning of July 23, residents were shot at while trying to stop vehicular break-ins at the apartment complex on Patriots Pointe Drive.
Police have arrested Marcus Beatty, 21, of Durham. He was charged with:
• Assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill.
• Attempted larceny of a motor vehicle.
• Two counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
• Felony conspiracy.
Beatty surrendered to authorities at the Durham County Detention Center and is being held on a $45,000 secured bond.
Police are asking for information on the location of Elijah Page, 20, of Durham. He has been charged with:
• Three counts of breaking and entering a motor vehicle.
• Attempted larceny of a motor vehicle.
• Two counts of felony conspiracy.
Police believe a third individual may have been involved and are continuing to investigate.
On July 23, two residents of the apartment complex encountered two people breaking into vehicles and confronted them. One individual shot at the residents. No one was injured. The individuals then fled in a vehicle that was stolen from Raleigh and later abandoned. Three vehicular break-ins were discovered at the apartment complex.
