Durham Police Execute Search Warrant; Sieze Firearms, Ammunition, Drugs; Arrest Suspects
DURHAM, NC – On August 15th, the Durham Police Department’s Special Operations Division executed a search warrant at a home in the 600 block of Homeland Avenue. Officers located and arrested Rodrick McNatt, 31, and Tyree Bullock, 35. The search led to the seizure of 14 firearms, hundreds of rounds of ammunition, over 50 magazines (including numerous extended magazines, two 50-round magazines, and one 100-round magazine), firearm accessories, two bulletproof plate carriers, marijuana, ecstasy, and $273 in cash.
McNatt was charged with two counts of possession with intent to sell or deliver (PWISD) within 1,000 feet of a school, selling and delivering marijuana, three counts of conspiracy to sell/deliver marijuana, two counts of maintaining a dwelling, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He received a $150,000 secured bond.
Bullock was charged with the same offenses as McNatt but received no bond due to his previous drug charges and being on pretrial release. Both McNatt and Bullock remain in the Durham County Jail.
Major Crimes Unit
The Durham Police Department’s Major Crimes Unit provides general narcotics enforcement services within the City of Durham. These narcotic enforcement services are geared towards both organized and non-organized groups and include the apprehension of street corner drug dealers and others involved in the illegal use and sale of controlled substances.
Vice Narcotics Unit
This DPD unit targets those who sell drugs in the open street, in public establishments, out of private dwellings, out of vehicles, on or around school property, and in areas frequented by juveniles. In addition, the Major Crimes Unit is responsible for providing vice enforcement services to address unlawful vice activities by members of organized groups or associations as well as independent or non-organized individuals.
