18-Year-Old Arrested In April 2024 Homicide Of NCCU Student

DURHAM, NC – Durham Police investigators have arrested and charged Keanan Odom Jr., 18, in connection with the murder of Myles Amadi Gresham, 22, of Upper Marlboro, Maryland, that occurred on Rose Garden Lane in April 2024.

Gresham

Gresham was a senior Business major at North Carolina Central University (NCCU) when he was shot and killed in the parking lot at his off-campus apartment before he could embark on his career. His parents, Darrell and Cheryl Gresham, accepted the diploma for their son at NCCU’s Spring graduation. They said Myles dreamed of pursuing interests in real estate and a music studio.

At approximately 3:29 p.m. on April 25, 2024, officers responded to a motor vehicle crash in the 11000 block of Rose Garden Lane. When officers arrived, they found a vehicle that had crashed into two other parked unoccupied vehicles. The driver of that vehicle, later identified as Gresham, was found suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS responded and performed lifesaving measures. Gresham was pronounced deceased at the scene.
