Raleigh Police Arrest Three Teens In July Murder Of Man Found Shot In Crashed Car

RALEIGH, NC – On Saturday, July 27, 2024, at approximately 1:55 a.m., the Raleigh Police Department responded to a shots fired call in the area of Highgate Place. An additional caller reported hearing shots being fired and a vehicle crashing into a tree in the 2400 block of Milburnie Road. Responding officers located the car at the crash scene with an adult male occupant inside. The male was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was later transported to a nearby hospital, where he died due to his injuries. 

This incident on Highgate Place is now being investigated as a homicide.

Update: On August 19, the Raleigh Police Department made three arrests in connection with the July 27 homicide. Two 16-year-old juveniles and a 15-year-old juvenile have been arrested and charged with Murder.

The Raleigh Police Department currently has a 100% clearance rate for homicides in 2024.

The identity of the victim is not being released at this time.

This is an ongoing investigation.
