OXFORD, NC — The Granville County Sheriff’s Office is requesting the public’s assistance in finding Andre Stephon Jones, who is wanted in connection with a double shooting in Oxford.

Jones is considered armed and dangerous, Sheriff Robert Fountain said on Facebook.

Two people were injured in a shooting Tuesday night. WRAL reports that law enforcement radio traffic gave a better insight into what happened.

The radio traffic provided details about the victims; it indicates EMS and deputies first responded to a home in the 3000 block of Windwood Circle. A caller advised that her child’s father came and shot her multiple times in the upper side and leg.

Then EMS responded to another victim who had been shot – a middle-aged man, found at a nearby corner store called Danny’s Store.

“One person has been airlifted to Granville Medical,” radio traffic said. “The victim is a 42-year-old male with three gunshot wounds: one to the side, one to the groin, and one to the leg.”

Police are actively searching for the suspect. A “Be On The Lookout” (BOLO) notice has been issued to other agencies to help locate the suspect.

Information about the victims’ conditions and what led up to this double shooting will be updated when available. Anyone who may know his whereabouts is asked to call 911, the Granville County Sheriff’s Office at 919-693-321, or Granville County Crime Stoppers at 919-693-3100.
