‘I Don’t Wanna Hear that Black Crap!’: NC Cop Lashes Out At Black Woman After She Files Complaint

CONCORD, NC A disturbing video circulating on social media captures a North Carolina deputy making a racially charged remark in response to a Black woman’s harassment complaint. The woman, identified as Veleria Levy on TikTok, posted a video of her encounter with a Cabarrus County deputy at a community fair in Concord, North Carolina. After a heated verbal confrontation with four individuals, Levy felt compelled to file a complaint.

Levy alleged that while she was canvassing for the Democratic Party at the fair, she was approached by three men and a woman who initiated a conversation about Donald Trump. The exchange quickly escalated into a heated argument, prompting Levy to report the incident to the fair manager. The manager directed her to a booth where the sheriff’s office was stationed.

After hearing both sides, deputies decided to have Levy and the four individuals leave the fairgrounds, citing the disruption to the event.

“So I’ve got your side, and I’ve got their side. So the only fair way to do it is, if there’s not a video, is to make both parties leave. Even though you paid for a booth, you also still have to abide by laws,” Chris Measimer, Captain of the Harrison NC Division of the Cabarrus County Sheriff’s Office, says in the video.

@velerialevy POV: Chris Measimer Captain of the Harrisburg NC Division of the Sheriff’s Office. His response to my complaint about 3 MAGA men shouting slurs at me. He wasnt even interested, didnt stand up, didnt sit forward, didnt ask me if I was ok, nothing! Because 1 of the men was Black (2 White), he just went with #BlackOnBlack so it doesnt matter. He said #BlackCrap – so thats what our tax dollars pay for? This is unacceptable. Wonder why he left CMPD & went to Concord? #sheriff #BLM #MAGA #concord #kamala ♬ original sound – Veleria Levy

After Levy finds fault with the Measimer’s decision, he says, “You’re giving attitude. I can see why they probably didn’t get along with you.”

“I’m not making them leave unless you leave with them because I wasn’t there,” the deputy adds.

“No, because I am standing up for myself. I’m Black, so I’m giving attitude,” Levy responds.

“I don’t wanna hear that Black crap,” Measimer says back, adding that one of the individuals who Levy was quarreling with was Black in an effort to undermine her argument.

He encourages her to discuss the matter with the fair directors if she disagrees with his resolution to the conflict.

“I’m not making them leave unless you have a video because I didn’t come to you and tell you that you had to leave when they were saying you were cussing them,” the deputy states. “So all I’ve got is two people fighting in public and cussing each other in public, which is against the law.”

Levy also shared a brief video of an argument between her and one of the individuals, where they debated over who cursed at the other first. Reactions to the incident were mixed on social media. Some expressed sympathy for Levy, criticizing the deputy’s response to her complaint, while others sided with the deputy, agreeing to penalize both parties for the disruption.

“Giving attitude? Black crap? I’m sorry this happened to you. I’m worried,” one person wrote.

“I don’t see anything wrong with the sheriff’s decision. His word against your word. Sorry,” someone else commented.

“Unless they have proof, they don’t care. It doesn’t matter if it’s Black or white people,” another comment said.

UPDATE

Veleria Levy posted an update on TikTok after she received a call from the Sheriff. The Captain is on Administrative leave.

@velerialevy #stitch with @Veleria Levy UPDATE!! The fair ended last night. Although I had some anxiety with the larger Sheriff office presence & if they thought I was a troublemaker, it was a great night! So much support. People were even talking about the video & how under DJT, some people feel comfortable showing their racism & hate for people of color; especially immigrants Black & Brown. The Captain is on Administrative leave & I hope he gets some serious DEI Training! That group needs to go through the #groundwater training!! #blackcrap #DEI #training #harrisburg ♬ original sound – Veleria Levy

  1. tha tis exactly what is wrong with the black race now, they think they are off limits, this action just confirms it. that deputy was right, the inute she played the race card saying she was black he merely said he did not want to hear that black crap. He should never have been given time off, she should have been escorted off the property for inciting a riot.

  2. This is wrong!
    Bring him back from leave.
Blacks think they are untouchable, by putting him on leave, you are showing that they are.
I am a Cabarrus County resident, and disgusted with your decision.
