Durham Police Make Two Arrests in April Murder of Charles Parker Jr.

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department has arrested and charged Jamar Beulah, 27, and Jaylen Steele, 24, in connection with the homicide of 26-year-old Charles Parker Jr., which occurred in April 2024.

On April 19, 2024, shortly after 10:00 a.m., officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 1000 block of Miami Boulevard. Upon arrival, they found Parker suffering from a gunshot wound. EMS transported him to a local hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Jamar Beulah has been charged with second-degree murder, while Jaylen Steele faces charges of accessory after the fact (second-degree murder). Both suspects are currently held at the Durham County Jail without bond.
