Update: Arrests Made in August 25th Shooting on Raleigh’s Fayetteville Street

RALEIGH, NC – On Wednesday, September 25th, the Raleigh Police Department made an additional arrest in connection with the August 25th shooting in the 400 block of Fayetteville Street. Khalil Lamont Barnes, 29, was arrested and charged with Felony Conspiracy.

Previously, on Monday, September 23rd, Raleigh Police had announced the arrest of Daniel Hezekiah Anderson, 25, who was charged with Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill Inflicting Serious Injury, and Felony Conspiracy. Anderson was apprehended in Cary with the assistance of the Cary Police Department.

The incident occurred on August 25, 2024, at approximately 2:39 AM, when Raleigh Police officers responded to a reported shooting. Upon arrival, they found an adult male victim suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment.

Officers and detectives gathered evidence and spoke with witnesses at the scene, leading to the identification and charging of Anderson and Barnes.
