Arrest Made in April Homicide On Durham’s West Club Boulevard

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department has arrested and charged 38-year-old Roy Bright in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on West Club Boulevard in April 2024.

The incident took place on April 30, 2024, at approximately 11:45 p.m., when officers responded to reports of a shooting in the 400 block of W. Club Blvd. Upon arrival, they found three adult males suffering from gunshot wounds. One of the victims, identified as 51-year-old Thomas Holloway Jr., was pronounced dead at the scene. The other two victims were transported by EMS to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Roy Bright has been indicted on one count of murder and two counts of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill inflicting serious injury. He was arrested on September 18, 2024, and is currently held in the Durham County Jail without bond.
