CrimeStoppers forwards the information to the investigating law enforcement agency within Durham County. If the information is used by law enforcement and leads to a felony arrest, the tipster may be eligible to receive a cash reward. Reward payments range from a minimum of $100 to a maximum of $2,000, depending on the severity of the crime.

Durham CrimeStoppers is a non-profit organization comprised of volunteers from the Durham community and your neighbors willing to take action against crime. They want our community to be safe and eager to work to make it that way. A board of directors—members of our community who have volunteered to give their time and talents to the program—administers it. These volunteers establish CrimeStoppers policy, raise funds, and determine the amount and method of reward payments.

  1. Once again Durham’s most wantred list has been proved to be nothing more than a P.R. stunt!! We have murderers., drug cartel bosses and lieutenants who are running loose commiting more crimes in our city every day. Where are they on the list? Instead we are served up check forgers and other and other low-end criminals as a sign of outstanding Police work. Whoever puts this list together for public consumption should be ashamed of themself.
