Kinston Man Wanted for Grifton Armed Robbery Arrested in Cary
LENOIR COUNTY, NC – On Monday, September 30, a Kinston man wanted in connection with a weekend armed robbery was arrested in Cary.
Lenoir County deputies charged 25-year-old Robert Ontyerio Brown for the armed robbery that occurred Saturday outside of Grifton. The incident took place on Leland Road, where a man was robbed at gunpoint, drawing a large crowd to the scene.
Authorities identified Brown as a suspect, and on Monday, deputies alerted Cary police to his potential whereabouts. Brown was apprehended after a traffic stop, with cooperation from both the Lenoir County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) and Cary Police Department.
Brown faces felony charges for robbery with a dangerous weapon and conspiracy to commit robbery with a dangerous weapon. He is currently being held without bond, as he was already out on bond for a separate crime at the time of his arrest.
