Securing Its First Naming Rights Partner, Greensboro Coliseum Renamed First Horizon Coliseum

GREENSBORO, NC – First Horizon Corp. has entered into a landmark partnership agreement with the City of Greensboro and Oak View Group, managers and operators of the Greensboro Coliseum Complex, to become the first naming rights partner at the 65-year-old Greensboro Coliseum Complex. As a result, the venue will be renamed the First Horizon Coliseum. The terms of the multi-year agreement that immediately went into effect have not been disclosed. 

OVG Global Partnerships, Oak View Group’s sponsorship and naming rights division, facilitated the partnership with First Horizon Bank. This division connects top-notch brands with premier live entertainment properties. 

Greensboro Mayor Nancy Vaughan expressed excitement about the new partnership with First Horizon Bank, emphasizing the potential for the First Horizon Coliseum to become a leading entertainment destination. Todd Williams, Triad Market President, also shared his enthusiasm, stating that First Horizon Bank is honored to carry on the legacy of this iconic venue. 

Scott Johnson, Oak View Group’s General Manager of First Horizon Coliseum, highlighted the significance of having a naming rights partner, anticipating that it would elevate the Coliseum’s national profile. Greg O’Dell, President of Venue Management at Oak View Group, echoed this sentiment, expressing excitement for the future and the opportunities that lie ahead for the First Horizon Coliseum. 

Dan Griffis, President of Global Partnerships at Oak View Group, emphasized the importance of naming rights in shaping a venue’s brand identity and building a loyal fan base. He praised First Horizon Bank as a terrific partner and looked forward to collaborating on customer activations across the region.
