BET and Nissan Partner to Highlight Emerging Artists Through BET Amplified Initiative
NEW YORK, NY – BET and Nissan have joined forces to celebrate up-and-coming musical talents through the prestigious BET Amplified initiative. Launched in 2020, BET Amplified serves as BET’s official endorsement for emerging artists destined to impact the music industry significantly. With over a decade of commitment to this platform, Nissan partners with BET this month to feature a new artist in an original docu-style interview series titled “Road to Stardom,” which will air on BET.com and the official BET YouTube channel. This month’s spotlight is on the multi-talented rising rap sensation and National Women’s Basketball Champion, Flau’jae Johnson.
Hailing from Savannah, Georgia, Flau’jae is making waves in both music and sports. As the daughter of the late rapper Camoflauge, she honors her father’s legacy while carving her own path. Her musical career took off early, with standout performances on “America’s Got Talent” and “The Rap Game,” where she impressed audiences with her distinctive lyrical style and dynamic stage presence. Recently, she released her debut studio EP, Best of Both Worlds, featuring collaborations with notable artists like Lil Wayne, NLE Choppa, and 2Rare. The lead single, “Came Out A Beast” featuring Lil Wayne, has generated significant buzz, with its music video showcasing memorable moments at LSU, including scenes of Flau’jae with the championship trophy, along with appearances from Coach Kim Mulkey and her teammates. Unsurprisingly, this versatile rapper and athlete signed a historic deal with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation Distribution in 2021.
Flau’jae’s basketball career continues to flourish. She received Second-Team All-SEC honors for the 2023-24 season and played a vital role in LSU’s historic National Championship victory. Her ability to excel in basketball and music makes her a standout figure and a true inspiration to young fans.
