Two NCCU Students Arrested in Connection to Durham Home Invasion

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department’s Robbery Unit, along with the Organized Crime Division and NCCU Police, have arrested two North Carolina Central University students linked to a home invasion that took place on October 10, 2024, on Fitzgerald Avenue, which is about a half-mile from the NCCU campus.

Demarcus Justin Coley, 18, from Garner, NC, and Ja’Maury Coe, 19, from Warsaw, NC, were apprehended and face multiple charges including, four counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, four counts of Kidnapping, Conspiracy to Commit Robbery, and 1st Degree Burglary.

Authorities executed a search warrant on NCCU’s campus in relation to the arrests for home invasion, and further charges may be filed as the investigation continues.
