Lace Up & Kick It! Omega Psi Phi & Delta Sigma Theta Team Up for 2nd Annual Sneaker Ball

sneaker ballWINSTON-SALEM, NC – The Psi Phi Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc. and the Winston-Salem Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. are joining forces once again to present the much-anticipated second annual Sneaker Ball fundraiser. Scheduled for October 26 at 8 p.m., the event will be held at Kaleideum, located at 120 W. Third St. in the heart of downtown Winston-Salem.

The Sneaker Ball is more than just a night of music and dancing; it’s a celebration with a purpose. The event aims to support student literacy initiatives within Winston-Salem/Forsyth County Schools. Guests will be treated to a variety of entertainment options, including a live cover band, a DJ spinning the latest hits, karaoke, and vendors offering unique products. This fun-filled evening allows attendees to dance, network, and mingle while contributing to a meaningful cause.

“Our ‘party with a purpose’ Sneaker Ball aligns perfectly with the values set by our fraternity’s founding fathers,” said Psi Phi Chapter Basileus Richard Watkins. “Education has always been a central pillar throughout the 113-year history of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity Inc., and we are committed to helping our youth thrive academically.”

The event will take full advantage of Kaleideum’s spacious venue, featuring festivities spread across four levels, including a rooftop area with stunning city skyline views. Partygoers can also relax in the outdoor cigar lounge. Guests will enjoy a selection of heavy hors d’oeuvres, savory desserts, and cash bars stationed throughout the venue, ensuring a night of indulgence and delight.

For those concerned about parking, ample paid parking will be available by the hour at nearby locations, including the Liberty Plaza Parking Garage on Town Run Lane and the Third Street Parking Deck at the intersection of Third and Main Streets.

This year’s event continues the legacy of success established at the inaugural Sneaker Ball in 2023, which drew over 600 attendees at the Winston-Salem Dash Concourse. With an exciting new location at Kaleideum, a venue born from the merger of two beloved community nonprofits – The Children’s Museum and SciWorks – this year’s event promises to be even bigger and better.

Tickets for the 2024 Sneaker Ball are priced at $75 and can be purchased on Eventbrite at eventbrite.com/e/2024-sneaker-ball-fundraiser-tickets-995643204627?aff=erelexpmlt.com.
