The Vance County Sheriff’s Office Narcotic Unit, in collaboration with the North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, carried out the operation on October 10.

During the search, officers discovered a substantial quantity of methamphetamine, cocaine, and several firearms. Some of the seized weapons had been reported stolen from nearby Granville County, adding to the list of charges against the suspect.

James Jones was charged with multiple offenses, including:

  • Trafficking methamphetamine
  • Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver cocaine
  • Maintaining a dwelling for the purpose of keeping and selling controlled substances
  • 2 counts of possession of a stolen firearm
  • 8 counts of possession of a firearm by a felon

Despite the seriousness of the charges, Jones was released on a $330,000 secured bond.
