Durham Police Investigate Deadly Shooting on Fayetteville Street

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department is currently investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on the night of October 20, 2024, in the 900 block of Fayetteville Street.

At approximately 11:48 p.m., officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound at the location. Upon arrival, they discovered an adult female victim suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. Emergency Medical Services (EMS) transported the victim to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased shortly after.

Authorities are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident, which they believe to be isolated. The investigation is ongoing, and more details will be provided as they become available.
