UPDATE: Victim Identified, Arrest Made in Fatal Shooting on Durham’s Fayetteville Street

​​DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department has arrested Braham Pugh, 30, of Durham, in connection with a fatal shooting that occurred on the night of October 20, 2024, in the 900 block of Fayetteville Street. Pugh has been charged with first-degree murder and is currently being held at the Durham County Jail without bond.

The victim in this tragic incident has been identified as 34-year-old Chaquila Little of Durham. At approximately 11:48 p.m., officers responded to reports of a gunshot wound at the location. Upon arrival, they discovered Little suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. She was transported by Emergency Medical Services (EMS) to a local hospital, where she was pronounced deceased shortly after.

Authorities believe this fatal shooting to be an isolated incident and are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the shooting. The investigation remains active, and officials urge anyone with information to come forward.
