Watch Surveillance Video: Help Identify Suspect Behind Downtown Business Break-Ins

DURHAM, NC—Durham Police investigators are asking for the public’s help to identify a suspect in multiple burglaries that occurred this month in downtown Durham.

On October 18, 2024, three break-ins were reported at businesses on the 300 block of West Main Street:

• Incident 1: The suspect broke a window, entered the business, rummaged through drawers, took a laptop, and fled.
• Incident 2: The suspect broke a window, entered another business, stole multiple bottles of liquor and cash, and left the scene.
• Incident 3: The suspect broke a door but did not take anything.

All three incidents occurred overnight. Investigators believe the same individual is responsible for each break-in of downtown Durham businesses. The suspect, captured on surveillance video (below), is described as a male wearing a blue vest over a long-sleeve white hoodie, blue jeans, black pants, and a beanie.
