For over 20 years, Yvonne Campbell and her family have been “Bringing the City Lights to the Country” with their dazzling Christmas display in Oxford, North Carolina. Their festive wonderland, affectionately called “Campbellville,” captivated the nation and their local community.

Yvonne’s journey began over two decades ago with a simple candle and an angel on her porch. Her passion for holiday decorating has become a family tradition involving relatives and community members. Reflecting on the win, Yvonne said, “It means everything in the world. We did this together, and I know we can do anything.”

An Unforgettable Display

What started with just two small decorations has transformed into an 80,000-light extravaganza covering over an acre and a half of land. Each corner of the display, from the front yard to the back, is filled with holiday cheer.

“In our community, we don’t have a place where people can go see lights, so I decided I wanted to do something,” Yvonne shared on the show. “Every year, I get a little bit bigger and bigger and bigger.”

This year’s highlights include:

  • A miniature drag racing track for kids, where little ones can race cars.
  • A sports area, airport-themed lights, a charming church scene, and a glowing nativity scene.
  • A 20-foot mega tree with 6,400 pixels and trails lined with magical pathways.
  • Festive activities like a S’mores Pit on Sundays and visits with Santa Claus on Saturdays.
  • Complimentary hot chocolate, cookies, and candy canes make the experience even sweeter.
  • Synchronized light displays set to music through an FM transmitter, perfect for visitors strolling on foot or watching from their cars.

Visitors to Campbellville are encouraged to bring canned food donations to support Area Congregations in Ministry, the local food pantry. “We wanted to create a space where people can experience the magic of the holidays and give back to the community,” Yvonne shared.

Judge Carter Oosterhouse praised the display’s creativity: “For miles around, this is the place to be. They’ve covered every square inch of their property, creating a holiday experience like no other.”
