Manhunt Underway: Suspects Open Fire on Trooper During High-Speed Chase in Chapel Hill
CHAPEL HILL, NC – Chapel Hill Police are on the hunt for three suspects who fled after shooting at a North Carolina State Highway Patrol (NCSHP) trooper early Saturday morning. The dramatic incident unfolded around 2:30 a.m. during a high-speed pursuit involving a stolen vehicle.
While the trooper escaped unscathed, bullets from the suspects struck multiple other vehicles in the Timber Hollow Court and Mendel Drive area. Fortunately, no injuries were reported.
According to investigators, the suspects abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot, disappearing into the night. Law enforcement is now working to identify and locate the individuals responsible for the gunfire.
