Raleigh Woman Arrested for Murder in Bonneville Court Shooting

RALEIGH, NC – Raleigh police have arrested 31-year-old Debria Nicole Moore in connection with the fatal shooting of Ashley Surles, 28. Moore faces multiple felony charges, including first-degree murder and drug-related offenses, after an early morning shooting on February 22, 2025.

- Felony – Possession With Intent to Sell and Deliver Marijuana
- Felony – Maintaining a Vehicle, Dwelling, or Place for Keeping or Selling a Controlled Substance
Details of the Incident
At approximately 3:28 a.m. on February 22, officers from the Raleigh Police Department responded to a reported shooting in the 3800 block of Bonneville Court. Upon arrival, they found Surles suffering from a gunshot wound. She was transported to a hospital with serious injuries, but later succumbed to her wounds.
Investigators immediately began gathering evidence and working to determine the circumstances surrounding the shooting. Their investigation led to Moore being arrested and formally charged.
