Chilling Bus Video Reveals Durham Man Executing Retaliation Killing—Now He’s on the Run!

DURHAM, N.C.  –-  Newly released details from a warrant reveal how Durham police used GoDurham bus surveillance footage to track down a suspect in a deadly shooting.

The victim, 31-year-old Christopher Hart was shot and killed around 9:20 a.m. in what authorities believe was an act of retaliation for an earlier shooting.

Adding another layer to the case, police found a stolen Taurus G3X handgun near Hart’s body—later linking it to another homicide.

 Caught on Bus Camera

GoDurham bus surveillance images captured Raymond Dixon walking toward Hart on Holloway Street just after 9 a.m. on November 12. Moments later, video footage shows Dixon sitting next to Hart, shooting him in the side, and then casually walking away.

When police arrived at the scene, Hart was pronounced dead. The gun found near him was run through the National Crime Information Center, where officers made a shocking discovery—it had been reported stolen and connected to a previous murder earlier that month.

A Deadly Chain of Events

Investigators linked the gun to the death of 36-year-old Jacob Kennedy, who was found shot and killed days earlier on Brye Street. But the gun had also been used just two hours before Hart’s murder—in an aggravated assault where surveillance video shows Hart shooting Daniel Bailey.

The connection didn’t stop there. When police questioned Raymond Dixon, he admitted that Bailey was his friend. A Crimestoppers tipster later confirmed what detectives suspected—Hart’s murder was retaliation.

Dixon was arrested just hours after the killing, but not for murder. Instead, he was taken into custody on **unrelated drug charges**, posting a $5,000 bond before police could charge him in Hart’s death.

Now, authorities are asking for the public’s help in locating Raymond Dixon, who is wanted for murder.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Durham police or submit an anonymous tip through Crimestoppers at 919-683-1200.
