Multi-Agency Operation Leads to 17 Arrests in Major NC Drug Bust

WAKE COUNTY, N.C. – Seventeen suspects were arrested as part of a multi-jurisdictional operation targeting drug traffickers in North Carolina, law enforcement officials announced Wednesday (Feb. 26).

The operation, named Exploding Kilo, was led by the Wake County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA), U.S. Marshals Service, Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms, and Explosives (ATF), North Carolina State Bureau of Investigation, Wake County District Attorney’s Office, Raleigh Police Department, Wake Forest Police Department, Franklin County Sheriff’s Office, and Henderson Police Department.

Authorities seized large quantities of illegal narcotics, including cocaine, fentanyl, and marijuana, along with 55 firearms and hundreds of thousands of dollars in cash and assets. Officials estimate the amount of fentanyl recovered was enough to kill up to 70,000 people.

Franklin County Sheriff’s Office called the operation “one of the largest drug busts in the history of our state.” Sheriff’s officials said the group of traffickers had infiltrated communities across North Carolina, flooding vulnerable areas with dangerous drugs.

“This was a takedown of epic proportions,” a spokesperson from Franklin County said. “Today, we send a message: law and order is back in style in North Carolina.”

Arrests and Charges:

  • Sedrick Boyd, 43 – Conspiracy to traffic opium/heroin; trafficking heroin (four counts)
  • Juwan Clifton, 30 – Possession with intent to sell or deliver marijuana; possession with intent to sell or deliver a counterfeit controlled substance; possession with intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver cocaine; manufacture/sell/distribute/possess a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a park; trafficking cocaine (two counts); maintaining a dwelling for controlled substances (two counts)
  • Keith Holland, 53 – Conspiracy to traffic cocaine
  • Daris Jeffreys, 33 – Trafficking cocaine (12 counts)
  • Donnie Jeffreys, 34 – Conspiracy to traffic cocaine (three counts)
  • Justin Jeffreys, 36 – Conspiracy to sell Schedule I controlled substances; possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver a Schedule II controlled substance; maintaining a dwelling for a controlled substance; trafficking heroin (four counts)
  • Tyzavier Montreal Jeffreys, 21 – Possession of firearm by felon; trafficking opium or heroin (12 counts)
  • Dashawn Jones, 26 – Trafficking heroin (eight counts)
  • Marcus Massenburg, 42 – Conspiracy to traffic cocaine
  • Jordan Maynor, 25 – Trafficking opium or heroin (eight counts)
  • Wesley Narron, 33 – Conspiracy to traffic opium or heroin; possession of firearm by felon; trafficking heroin (four counts)
  • Marzavier Richardson, 20 – Trafficking opium or heroin (16 counts); conspiracy to traffic heroin
  • Couri Russell, 31 – Conspiracy to traffic opium or heroin
  • Sheree Street, 43 – Possession of firearm
  • Aaron Walker, 54 – Trafficking cocaine; conspiracy to traffic cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana; felony possession of marijuana
  • Aleshia Walker, 52 – Trafficking cocaine; conspiracy to traffic cocaine; possession with intent to manufacture/sell/deliver marijuana; felony possession of marijuana

CBS 17 crews were present at a raid on Jonesville Road in Wake Forest, where authorities arrested Aaron and Aleshia Walker and recovered multiple firearms.

Wake County Sheriff Willie Rowe praised the operation’s success: “Our deputies and investigators remain committed to holding repeat offenders accountable and keeping dangerous drugs off our streets. This operation highlights the dedication and hard work of our law enforcement team.”

The investigation remains ongoing, and officials say more arrests could follow as they continue to dismantle drug networks operating in North Carolina.
