Apple Original Films has just dropped the adrenaline-fueled first full trailer for the highly anticipated racing epic F1, starring Brad Pitt and Damson Idris. Directed by Top Gun: Maverick’s Joseph Kosinski and produced in collaboration with Formula 1, the film roars into IMAX and theaters worldwide on June 27, 2025 (internationally starting June 25).

F1: A High-Speed Story of Redemption

Dubbed “the greatest that never was,” Sonny Hayes (Brad Pitt) was Formula 1’s rising star of the 1990s until a near-fatal crash derailed his career. Decades later, he’s a nomadic racer-for-hire until his former teammate, now team owner Ruben Cervantes (Javier Bardem), offers him one last shot at glory—joining a struggling F1 team on the brink of collapse.

Sonny’s return to racing puts him in direct competition with Joshua Pearce (Damson Idris), a fiery young driver hungry for his own legacy. As the engines roar and the pressure mounts, rivalry, redemption, and raw speed take center stage in a sport where your fiercest competition is often the one in your own garage.

A Legendary Team Behind the Wheel

In addition to Pitt and Idris, the film boasts an all-star cast featuring Kerry Condon, Tobias Menzies, Kim Bodnia, and Javier Bardem. The film is backed by powerhouse producers Jerry Bruckheimer, Kosinski, Lewis Hamilton, and Brad Pitt, ensuring an authentic, pulse-pounding experience.

Shot during actual Grand Prix weekends, F1 captures the high-speed action like never before—blurring the lines between fiction and reality as Pitt himself raced at speeds over 180 mph for the film.

Lewis Hamilton: “This Film Has Got It All”

Formula 1 legend Lewis Hamilton, whose Dawn Apollo Films is producing the project, spoke about the film’s unparalleled authenticity during a recent press conference:

“Joe [Kosinski], Jerry [Bruckheimer], Brad [Pitt], and the entire team worked tirelessly to create a truly immersive Formula 1 experience—something unlike anything seen on screen before. Shooting during real F1 races added an unmatched intensity, and watching Brad hit speeds over 180 mph was unreal. This film has got it all—action, drama, humor, even romance. Fans are in for a wild ride.”

Kosinski added: “This story has everything—high stakes, real heart, and an intense rivalry that will have audiences on the edge of their seats. It’s a story of redemption, and the passion behind it is undeniable.”
