Four Men Arrested in Deadly Durham Shooting on East Umstead Street
DURHAM, NC — Four men are behind bars in connection with the March 2 shooting death on Umstead Street of 48-year-old Otoniel Lopez-Diaz in Durham, following a violent altercation that also left another man injured.
Durham Police responded shortly before 10:00 p.m. to the 300 block of East Umstead Street after receiving a call about a disturbance involving a weapon. When officers arrived, they found Lopez-Diaz suffering from a gunshot wound and a second man who had been struck in the head with a pistol.
Both men were transported to a local hospital, where Lopez-Diaz later died from his injuries.
After an investigation, police arrested four individuals, all now facing murder and robbery charges:

- Jeremy Rollins, 20, of Henderson – Murder, 2 counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 2 counts of Felony Conspiracy
- Robert Dockery, 20, of Henderson – Murder, 2 counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 2 counts of Felony Conspiracy
- Rahkeim Perry, 21, of Franklinton – Murder, 2 counts of Robbery with a Dangerous Weapon, 2 counts of Felony Conspiracy
All four suspects are currently being held in the Durham County Jail.
