Raleigh Man Killed in Weekend Shooting on New Bern Avenue; Suspect Charged with Murder

RALEIGH, NC – A tragic shooting last weekend has claimed the life of 46-year-old Robert J. Lucas, who was found with a gunshot wound near New Bern Avenue and North Rogers Lane on Sunday morning, March 23, 2025.

Raleigh Police responded to the scene in the 5200 block of New Bern Avenue around 10:35 a.m. and discovered Lucas suffering from life-threatening injuries. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

Dun-Dockery

Following an investigation, police have arrested 36-year-old Terrion Dun-Dockery, who is now charged with murder in connection to the fatal shooting.

This remains an ongoing investigation.
