Gunfire Turns Deadly on Durham Street: Man Found Shot in Parked Car
DURHAM, NC — A man is dead, and a Durham neighborhood is shaken after a late-night shooting left one person fatally wounded in a parked vehicle.
Just before 9:00 p.m., police were dispatched to the area of Courtland Drive and Brighton Road for a call labeled “Unknown EMS Problem.” Moments later, a separate 911 call came in reporting the sound of gunshots in the same vicinity.
When emergency crews arrived, they found an adult male inside a parked vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigation Underway
The Durham Police Department is treating the incident as a homicide. The victim’s identity has not been released, and no suspect information has been made public at this time.
Authorities say this remains an active investigation and are urging community members to come forward with any information.
