Ocean City Jazz Festival Pops Up at Missy Lane’s with Star-Studded Series

DURHAM, NC — Triangle jazz lovers, get ready for a musical experience that hits all the right notes! The 15th Annual Ocean City Jazz Festival is launching an exclusive Pop-Up Jazz Series at Missy Lane’s Assembly Room in Durham. This limited engagement offers a front-row preview of the summer festival’s iconic energy and world-class sound—without leaving the city.

In collaboration with Missy Lane’s, WNCU 90.7 FM, and the Ocean City Jazz Festival, the series showcases three electrifying evenings of live performances, historic context, and community connection—all inside one of Durham’s most intimate, vibe-rich venues.

Jazz with Purpose

The Ocean City Jazz Festival is more than a concert—it’s a celebration of Black excellence, history, and resilience.

Founded in 2009, the festival honors the legacy of Ocean City Beach, established in 1949 as the only coastal North Carolina community where African Americans could purchase beachfront property during segregation. That legacy still lives on in every performance, making the festival a cultural landmark.
