Durham Police Arrest 30, Seize 22 Guns and Narcotics in Multi-Day Operation Targeting Violent Crime
DURHAM, NC – In a focused effort to combat violent crime, the Durham Police Department’s Organized Crime Division, in partnership with the FBI Safe Streets Task Force, conducted a three-day sweep that led to the arrest or citation of 30 individuals, the seizure of 22 firearms, and the recovery of large quantities of narcotics.
The operation took place June 25–27, 2025, and involved search warrants, traffic stops, violent crime fugitive apprehensions, and high-visibility foot patrols throughout targeted areas of the city.
Seizures and Charges
As a result of the operation, officers recovered:
- 20 grams of Fentanyl
- 65 grams of Schedule II narcotics
- 1,182 grams of Schedule VI substances
- 86 dosage units of pills
- $4,230 in cash
- 22 firearms, including two with illegal “switches” and one confirmed stolen
Charges included:
- 54 narcotics-related offenses
- 21 weapons-related charges
- 8 misdemeanor/infraction citations
- 14 outstanding warrants served
