Durham Police Search for Armed 18-Year-Old Suspect in Fatal Shooting of 20-Year-Old Man

DURHAM, NC – The Durham Police Department is asking for the public’s help in locating Sincere Bostic, an 18-year-old wanted for murder in connection with the June 29 shooting death of Jayquon Taborn, 20, also of Durham.

Deadly Shooting on Middle Street

Officers responded just before midnight to a residence in the 600 block of Middle Street, where they discovered two gunshot victims: Jayquon Taborn and a 15-year-old girl. Both had been shot inside the home. Taborn later died from his injuries; the teen was hospitalized, and her condition has not been publicly released.

Murder Charges Filed Against Bostic

After an investigation by the Durham Police Department’s Homicide/Violent Crimes Unit, detectives identified Sincere Bostic as the primary suspect and obtained a murder warrant. Despite extensive efforts, Bostic remains at large.

Public Urged to Remain Alert

Authorities are warning that 18-year-old Sincere Bostic should be considered armed and dangerous. If spotted, do not approach him — instead, call 911 immediately.
