Bell

DURHAM, NC — Durham police are asking for the public’s help locating Clarissa Bell, 33, who is wanted on multiple felony charges, including assault with a deadly weapon on a law enforcement officer and felony hit and run.

The incident occurred around 9:00 PM on August 5, 2025, when officers attempted to stop Bell’s vehicle near Crown Parkway and Mona Lisa Drive in connection with an earlier felony domestic violence report. During the traffic stop, officers ordered the driver to exit the vehicle. Instead, Bell allegedly accelerated toward an officer and fled the scene, nearly hitting the officer in the process.

Officers initiated a brief pursuit, but lost sight of the vehicle. Minutes later, Bell’s car was discovered crashed on South Miami Boulevard. The other vehicle involved reported minor, non-life-threatening injuries. Bell had fled on foot before police arrived. A K9 search was conducted, but she was not located.

Bell is now wanted for the following charges:

  • Assault with a deadly weapon on a government official
  • Felony hit and run
