Durham Police Investigating Afternoon Shooting

The Durham Police Department is investigating a fatal shooting that occurred in the 600 block of East Knox Street.

At approximately 3:06 p.m., on August 11, 2025, Durham Police Officers responded to a report of a gunshot wound in the 600 block of East Knox Street. Upon arrival, officers located two victims sustaining gunshot wounds. An adult male was pronounced deceased at the scene. A second victim, an adult female, was transported to a local hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Investigators are on the scene, determining the circumstances surrounding this incident.

This is an ongoing investigation and appears to be an isolated incident. Additional information will be released at the appropriate time.
