Durham, NC – After weeks on the run, a suspect connected to a deadly June shooting in Durham has been captured. U.S. Marshals tracked the fugitive across county lines, bringing a sense of closure to a community shaken by violence.

Bostic

On August 18, 2025, authorities apprehended Sincere Bostic in Goldsboro, North Carolina. Bostic was wanted for his alleged role in the June 29 shooting on Reservoir Street that claimed the life of 23-year-old Jayquon Taborn. He is currently being held without bond at the Durham County Detention Center.

Details of the Case

The June 29 incident unfolded in the 600 block of Reservoir Street, where officers found Taborn suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite emergency efforts, Taborn succumbed to his injuries. Investigators quickly identified Bostic as a suspect, issuing warrants that led to a multi-agency search spanning several weeks.

Coordinated Arrest

The arrest was the result of a joint operation between the Durham Police Department (DPD) and the U.S. Marshals Service, who located Bostic in Goldsboro. Officials say this collaboration highlights the importance of federal and local partnerships in addressing violent crime.
