Raleigh Nightclub Shooting: 19-Year-Old Suspect Arrested and Charged with Murder

Raleigh, N.C. — A major development has been announced in the investigation of the deadly shooting outside the Patio Nightclub on New Bern Avenue. Police confirmed that 19-year-old Jonathan David Bonilla-Ramos has been arrested and formally charged in connection with the case.

Bonilla-Ramos faces the following charges:

  • Murder
  • Assault with a Deadly Weapon with Intent to Kill

Authorities released his booking photo (shown right) and confirmed that the case remains an active, ongoing investigation.

The Shooting Incident

The incident occurred in the early morning hours of Saturday, August 9, 2025, at approximately 3:34 a.m. Raleigh Police Department officers responded to reports of gunfire at the 3900 block of New Bern Avenue near the Patio Nightclub.

Upon arrival, officers discovered two adult male victims suffering from gunshot wounds. Both were transported to a nearby hospital. One victim later succumbed to his injuries, while the second victim is expected to survive after being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
