Ivy Community Center’s anniversary celebrationDURHAM, N.C. — Get ready for an afternoon of fun, food, and festivities as the Ivy Community Center, Inc. (ICC) celebrates 30 years of service to the Durham community! On Sunday, Sept. 28, 2025, the ICC will transform the Sheraton Imperial Hotel Raleigh-Durham Airport at RTP into a lively hub of music, comedy, dancing, and fundraising at its 30th Anniversary Celebration: “Frills, Fusion, and Funk.”

Entertainment & Activities

This milestone celebration promises something for everyone, including:

  • Comedy: Hilarious set from Debra Terry Stephens
  • Live Music: Smooth soul, R&B, funk, and jazz by Sweet Dreams
  • Dancing: High-energy set from DJ TKO
  • Scrumptious Brunch Buffet with drinks
  • Silent Auction & 50/50 Raffle supporting ICC programs

Special Recognition

The program will include recognition of Durham Public Schools (accepted by Superintendent Dr. Anthony Lewis) and Dr. Jerry Head for their contributions to education and leadership in the Durham community.

  • Pre-Function Opens: 12:15 p.m.
  • Ballroom Doors Open: 12:30 p.m.
  • Celebration Begins: 1:00 p.m.

Guests are encouraged to dress to impress — stylish yet comfortable — and come ready to celebrate ICC’s legacy of impact.

Founded as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit in 1995, ICC has dedicated three decades to transforming the community through education, empowerment, and compassion. Located at 4222 Fayetteville Road in Durham, ICC has awarded scholarships, hosted literacy programs, supported teachers, provided free meeting space for grassroots groups, and served as a trusted polling site and hub for civic engagement.
