Durham Police Investigate Two Friday Night Shootings That Injure Four, Including Juveniles

DURHAM, N.C. — A violent Friday night in Durham left four people shot, including two juveniles, in two separate incidents just hours apart, according to the Durham Police Department (DPD).

Shooting at Oxford Manor Housing Complex

The first shooting occurred around 9:05 p.m. in the 3900 block of Dearborn Drive at the Oxford Manor housing complex in northern Durham.

When officers arrived, they found a juvenile victim who had been walking outside when he was shot. He was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

A short time later, two additional victims—another juvenile and an adult man—arrived at the hospital with gunshot wounds. According to DPD, one of those victims suffered life-threatening injuries, though investigators did not specify which one.

Authorities have not released any information about a possible motive or suspects. The investigation remains active and ongoing.

Second Shooting on Cornwallis Road

Roughly an hour later, officers responded to a second shooting just before 10:40 p.m. at the Cornwallis Road public housing complex, located in the 2500 block of South Roxboro Street.

Police said a man was found suffering from a gunshot wound. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening. No additional information has been released about that incident.

Investigation Ongoing

Both Friday night shootings remain under investigation by the Durham Police Department, which has not confirmed whether the two incidents are connected. Anyone with information is urged to contact DPD Investigator J. Clark at (919) 560-4440 ext. 29536 or CrimeStoppers at (919) 683-1200.
