NCCU Eagles Soar to Fourth Straight Victory with 45–7 Rout of Florida A&M

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. — The North Carolina Central University Eagles extended their winning streak to four games with a dominant 45–7 victory over Florida A&M on Saturday afternoon at Bragg Memorial Stadium. The win showcased the Eagles’ explosive offense and lockdown defense as they continue their midseason surge.

Offense Takes Flight Early

The Eagles (5–2) struck first in the opening quarter with an 11-play, 90-yard drive, capped by a 13-yard touchdown pass from quarterback Walker Harris to tight end Rodney Lesane — his first career touchdown — giving NCCU an early 7–0 lead.

In the second quarter, defensive back Eric Adams made a statement with a 33-yard pick-six, jumping a slant route to push the lead to 13–0. It marked NCCU’s first interception returned for a touchdown since 2023.

Moments later, Refeno Vangates hauled in a 4-yard touchdown reception, followed by a 1-yard rushing touchdown from running back Arthur Rodgers just before halftime, sending the Eagles into the locker room with a commanding 28–0 advantage.

Eagles Dominate Both Sides of the Ball

Florida A&M (1–4) opened the third quarter with a 75-yard scoring drive capped by a 1-yard run from Thad Franklin, but it was their only touchdown of the game.

NCCU quickly answered. After Christian Smith intercepted a pass on FAMU’s next possession, Harris finished the drive himself with a 1-yard quarterback keeper to make it 35–7.

Running back Chris Moseley broke free for a 50-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter, and kicker Robison sealed the win with a 30-yard field goal, finalizing the 45–7 rout.

The Eagles amassed 486 total yards — including 195 rushing yards — while their defense held the Rattlers to just 197 total yards and forced three interceptions.
