Raleigh Police Investigate Monday Morning Armed Robbery at PNC Bank Near Wakefield Commons
RALEIGH, N.C. — Raleigh police are investigating an armed robbery that took place early Monday morning (October 20) at a PNC Bank branch in the Wakefield Commons shopping area of north Raleigh.
According to the Raleigh Police Department, officers responded to the bank located in the 14000 block of Falls of Neuse Road shortly after it opened. The bank is situated near Marquee Cinemas and Galaxy Fun Park.
Investigators reported that a suspect entered the bank, demanded cash, and then fled the scene on foot with an undisclosed amount of money. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, and detectives have not yet released a description of the suspect.
As detectives collected evidence and reviewed surveillance footage, the bank remained temporarily closed on Monday morning. Police have not confirmed whether this robbery is connected to any other recent incidents in the area.
