Zebulon Man Charged With Murder After Wednesday Night Assault on Taramar Lane
Zebulon, NC – A violent domestic incident in Zebulon ended in tragedy Wednesday night, leaving one man dead and another facing a murder charge after a rapid, multi-agency emergency response to a home on Taramar Lane. Authorities say officers encountered a chaotic and dangerous scene as they attempted to reach the injured victim.
Emergency Response Begins With Disturbing Call
According to the Zebulon Police Department, the incident began at 6:24 p.m. on November 19, 2025, when dispatchers received a call from a resident at 2104 Taramar Lane reporting an assault. While police, fire, EMS, and multiple law enforcement partners were en route, updated information indicated that a victim had been shot, was suffering serious bleeding, and that the suspect remained inside the residence.
Responding agencies included the Zebulon Police Department, Zebulon Fire Department, Wake County Sheriff’s Office, Wendell Police Department, Rolesville Police Department, and Wake County EMS.
Dog Shot as Officers Force Entry to Reach Victim
Zebulon officers arrived first. As they approached the home, a German Shepherd charged at officers aggressively, preventing them from safely entering. Police say they were forced to shoot the dog to gain access and reach both the suspect and the wounded victim.
Inside, officers immediately began lifesaving measures. Despite efforts by first responders and EMS personnel, the victim — identified in a warrant as Tristan Torry — was pronounced dead at the scene.
Suspect Charged With Felony Murder

The suspect, Andrew David Torry, 59, was taken into custody without further incident. Investigators say evidence inside the home tied him directly to the crime. Torry was transported to the Zebulon Police Department for additional questioning and later appeared before a magistrate at the Wake County Justice Center, where he was formally charged with felony murder.
The warrant alleges that Torry “unlawfully, willfully, and feloniously… with malice aforethought” caused the victim’s death.
Investigation Ongoing
The case remains active with support from the Wake County Bureau of Forensic Services and Wake County Animal Control, which also responded to the scene. Police emphasized that the event appears to be isolated and that no ongoing threat to the public exists.
