Two Durham Men Shot Hours Apart in Separate Overnight Incidents, Police Investigating

DURHAM, N.C. — Two men were hospitalized in separate overnight shootings in Durham just hours apart — one late Friday on Nebo Street and another early Saturday on North Roxboro Street. Both incidents remain under investigation as police search for suspects.

First Incident: Friday Night Shooting on Nebo Street

Durham Police responded around 8:15 p.m. Friday, November 28, to a reported shooting on the 2300 block of Nebo Street.

Officers found a man inside a home suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim told police that a man demanded money before shooting him.

He was transported to a nearby hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Investigators have not released details about possible suspects or arrests.

Second Incident: Early Saturday Shooting on North Roxboro Street

Just hours later, overnight around 3:15 a.m. Saturday, November 29, an off-duty officer was approached by a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds on the 2100 block of North Roxboro Street.

Police said the victim reported being shot while sitting in his car near Avondale Drive and Foushee Street when an unknown person in another vehicle opened fire.

The man drove off to escape and later sought help from the off-duty officer. He was rushed to a hospital and remains in critical condition.

A nearby gas station on North Roxboro Street was taped off as detectives examined a car with visible bullet holes.

Ongoing Investigation

Police have not confirmed whether the two shootings overnight are related.
