LOS ANGELES, CA — Instead of a quiet Thanksgiving surrounded by family and food, R&B singer and actor Ray J spent the holiday behind bars after a disturbing domestic incident involving his ex-wife, Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood star Princess Love. The confrontation — streamed live on social media — allegedly showed Ray J pulling a gun during a heated argument.

Livestream Chaos: “The Worst Thanksgiving in the World”

Early Thursday morning, Ray J — whose legal name is Willie Norwood Jr. — went live from his Los Angeles home, saying he was having “the worst Thanksgiving in the f***ing world.” He claimed someone was trying to take his children and appeared visibly agitated.

During the broadcast, Ray J was seen grabbing and loading a handgun, warning that if anyone came to his door, he would “blow this f**ing sht away.” Soon after, Princess Love entered the frame, accusing him of pointing the weapon at her and their daughter. Moments later, a scuffle broke out with another man, and Ray J was heard threatening to kill him as police sirens approached.

Police Respond, Arrest Made

Los Angeles police responded around 4 a.m. to a domestic disturbance at Ray J’s Porter Ranch home. He was arrested on charges of making a criminal threat and booked into a local jail with bail set at $50,000, according to TMZ.
He was later released from custody, according to Complex.

Princess Love Responds: “Take Accountability and Go to Rehab”

Later that day, Princess Love posted her own video, urging Ray J to take responsibility for his behavior.

“I love my kids, and I would never do anything to put them in danger,” she said. “What I’m not about to do is let you deflect and not take accountability for pulling a gun out on me and my cousin’s husband.”

Love claimed the two had agreed to spend the holiday together so their children could see both parents, but tensions erupted after she confronted Ray J over past infidelity. She accused him of substance abuse and said he needed rehab and accountability, adding that she was “the best mother” and would “continue to pray” for her ex-husband.

Ray J’s Defense: “I Was Protecting My Kids”

Ray J later shared a follow-up video, insisting that he never assaulted anyone and only acted to protect his children.

“You got a dude coming in my bedroom where my kids are asleep, trying to take my kids because y’all are drunk,” he said. “I’m going to defend my kids and my space.”

He maintained that he displayed “self-control” and that his actions were misrepresented in the livestream.

Legal Outlook

As of now, Ray J faces one felony charge of making criminal threats. The Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office is reviewing the case for possible additional charges.
